Guide for level 1

Level 1–5: Coldridge Valley – learn the loop

Goal: reach 5, vendor your grays, get a better weapon than the starting dagger.

  • Gnomes start in Coldridge Valley in Dun Morogh (Conquest Capped, same as Dwarves).
  • From level 1: Sinister Strike, Eviscerate, Stealth. Thrown weapon (Throw) to pull mobs from range – buy a thrown weapon early.
  • Level 4: Backstab and Pick Pocket at the trainer. Backstab requires a dagger and that you stand behind the target – in Combat it is rarely used solo.
  • Put Eureka! on a button right away and use it on every quest mob that is tougher than normal.

Checkpoint level 5: can you kill a mob of your level without dropping below half HP? If not: swap weapons, take mobs one at a time.

Guide for level 1

Level 1–5: Shadowglen

Goal: learn range control and get out of the starting area without dying.

  • Trainer in Shadowglen according to Hearthproof: Mardant Strongoak. Learn new ranks every other level.
  • Basic loop: Mark of the Wild on yourself → Wrath at range → another Wrath if the enemy is still far away → finish with your weapon to save mana.
  • Level 4: Moonfire and Rejuvenation. Apply Moonfire while the enemy runs toward you; Rejuvenation ticks while you fight.
  • Sit down and eat/drink only when your mana is below roughly a third – not after every mob.

Checkpoint: level 5–6, Moonfire and Rejuvenation learned, at least one weapon upgrade from quests.
